Get Satisfaction Logo

Get Satisfaction is a people powered customer service website where individuals and consumers can get the most of the products or services they use in their day to day lives, and where companies and corporations are able to connect with their customers regarding important questions, feedback or ideas, customer issues and even general topic discussion.

This is the second company-customer program in as many months that Visible.net has joined. We also recently got involved with MeasuredUp’s Customer Service Pledge. Visible.net looks forward to participating in as many more service related programs as we can and hope our customers appreciate the time, effort and clear steps we have been, and continue taking in order to work hard towards our goal of being among the best customer service companies in the business.

Get Satisfaction is a direct connection between people and companies that fosters problem-solving, promotes sharing, and builds up relationships. Thousands of companies use this neutral space to support customers, exchange ideas, and get feedback about their products and services.

We here at Visible.net sincerely hope that it’s clear to our clients just how much we care about their ecommerce and/or marketing plan, but most importantly we hope that these steps help to clearly illustrate just how much we care about their overall website and business’ success on the Internet.

Visible.net is a forward thinking company that takes an active role in all client relationships and/or dealings. We only want to be the best service provider we can and know that this simply isn’t possible without the support of all parties involved, including BOTH our clients and company representatives. We know that it’s very difficult to have a perfect customer service track record, but that certainly shouldn’t be a reason not to aim for perfection. Visible.net aims high in all that we do and we feel that it shouldn’t be any different with the service aspects our company provides.

As always, we hope that by joining programs like the Get Satisfaction Pact that we will be more accessible and better equipped to handle and resolve disputes, learn about our clients’ likes or dislikes, understand our clients’ wants or needs and to develop, maintain or improve our customer service and brand reputation.

Get Satisfaction Company-Customer Pact

Company-Customer Pact Badge

The Challenge:

We, customers and companies alike, need to trust the people with whom we do business. Customers expect honest, straightforward interactions where their voices are heard. Companies work to inspire brand loyalty and deliver satisfaction while trying to understand their customer better. It is evident that we all have a crucial stake-and responsibility-in transforming the adversarial tone that too often dominates the customer experience.

A Call For Shared Responsibility:

Along with open, authentic communication comes the mutual responsibility to make it work. As each of us is both a customer and employee, we share in the rewards and challenges of candor. By adopting these five practical measures, we can together realize the fundamental shift in our business relationships:

Companies:
  • Be human, use a respectful, conversational voice, avoid scripts and never use corporate doublespeak.
  • Encourage employees to use their real names and use a personal touch.
  • Anticipate that problems will occur, and set clear, public expectations in advance for how you will address (and redress) issues.
  • Cultivate a public dialog with customers so they feel they are being heard and to demonstrate your accountability.
  • Demonstrate your good intentions by speaking plainly, earnestly, and candidly with customer about problems that arise.
Customers:
  • Be understanding. Show the respect and kindness to company reps that you’d like shown to you.
  • Use your real identity and foster your long-term reputation with the company.
  • Recognize that problems will occur, and give companies the information and time required to completely address issues.
  • Share issues directly, or through a forum where the company has an opportunity to respond, so it can work with you to solve problems.
  • Give companies the benefit of the doubt, and be open to to what they have to say.
Our Pact:

By working together in these ways, people build long-term relationships that lead to trust, strong communities, and sustainable businesses. We, as companies and customers, support this call for change.

Seattle 2.0 Logo

Seattle 2.0 is popular blog resource by Marcelo Calbucci (founder of Sampa) dedicated to bringing together information and news related to Seattle area startups, their founders, investors, board members and more. Seattle20.com features a collection of blogs posts, startup company lists, VC company lists, legal help, career opportunities and many more helpful links.

In addition, Seattle 2.0 regularly publishes an updated list of top Seattle area Web 2.0, startups and technology companies called the Startup Index.

Since the end of 2005 I’ve been thinking of how Seattle-area startups and technology companies, their founders, management team and investors lack resources to find out about each other. Who is hiring? Who is releasing new products? What are the new Startups of the month? Who is closing the doors? Who wants to partner or do a biz-dev deal?

Visible.net Makes The Startup Index

Visible.net is pleased to announce that we been included in the July edition and list of Seattle startups! Out of an overall total of 311 companies, Visible.net is ranked 118th on the list. Our company was 4th overall in the Software/Service category.

Other new additions to the July list include I Has a Hotdog, Pundit Kitchen, Localism, Digital Railroad, GoSleepGo.com, Entertonement, YOUbeQB, GoTime, TuneyFish, Social Compass, Crowdify, Kantrak, Silverlight Nuggets and eTalkup.

Some of our favorites that remain on the list include Zillow, Wetpaint, Redfin, SEOmoz, Sampa, Konnects, 43 Places and EVRI.

We feel honored to have been included in the latest edition of Startup Index. It’s been a fun, fast journey for most all of us here at Visible.net up to this point and we are extremely excited about the direction our company is headed. We wish to thank our dedicated, hard-working staff members and most importantly our clients, without whom we wouldn’t be where we are today. We look forward to seeing where we fit in on the Startup index after a few months and the long awaited launch of our newest version ecommerce software.

Monthly Suggestion Box Winner

The winner of the Suggestion of the Month award for July is Emilee Melton!! Her suggestion was to begin offering Gas Cards as rewards rather than restaurant gift certificates to the employees who are celebrating birthdays or company anniversaries each month. Good job on the suggestion Emilee, hope the $100 prze for the best suggestion doesn’t go straight to your gas tank!

As a reminder, we accept employee feedback and suggestions each month and award a cash prize of $100 to each winner.

Smashing Magazine is a popular web design blog that features informational articles on a variety of topics including graphics, fonts, CSS, design tools, design showcases, how-to’s, tutorials, tools and more. Currently, they have over 78,000 RSS feed subscribers and are considered to be one of the top premier web design resources out there.

Smashing Magazine Logo

SM recently expanded one of their popular article series’ on website favicons, where they showcased “70 outstanding favicons” on the web. Visible.net is proud to have our corporate site favicon featured as one of the 70 on Smashing Magazine’s recent blog article titled, Favicon Episode 7.

It’s such an honor for us to be included in Smashing Magazine’s favicon series. We hope the rest of our new site design is well in line with current web design best practices and that the rest of the graphics are just as pleasing to look at for our clients and users as the favicon apparently is.

What Is A Favicon Anyway?

Many novice Internet users are completely unaware of favicons, their purpose and the reason why they are created in the first place. Favicons are tiny 16×16 pixel icons that are displayed in browser bookmarks/favorites next to the website or page that was saved. Favicons are also sometimes displayed in browser address bars and browser tabs as a way to easily identify which site is open in which tab or page. Firefox is probably the best example of such a browser as they currently display favicons in bookmarks, next to the URL in the address bar and also next to the pages titles while tab browsing.

Visible.net Favicon

The Visible.net favicon is a representation of our brand and our website look and feel. We believe that the three “i’s” represent our mission goals; integrity, innovation and integration. Our website favicon helps visitors quickly and easily identify our brand with our content. Other than that, we think it’s pleasant to have an icon of our own to display across our valued users’ or clients’ bookmarks and browsers. We take pride in our brand and we always try to reflect it through our design, even if it is something as minor as our favicon design.

Here’s an example of our favicon in the address bar:

Favicon Address Bar

Here’s an example of our favicon in browser bookmarks:

Favicon Browser Bookmarks

Expert Ecommerce Clients Get Favicons Too

On a side note, I thought I would mention that our high-end ecommerce package offers custom favicons as a part of the services included. We go the extra mile to create graphics and images that do the same for our clients favicons as we try to do for ourselves. We use transparency for a clean look in all browsers or bookmarks, even those that have colored themes.

There are also many favicon generators available that can assist anyone who is interested in making their own custom website favicon. I personally use Adobe Photoshop to create favicons for sites I have built, so if you have it I recommend using that. Search for “favicon generator” or “favicon photoshop” in Google, there’s plenty of options out there so look at a few before deciding on the one you want to use.

Vote For Visible.net’s Favicon In The Faviconize Directory

Our favicon is posted on Faviconize. If you like it, please consider visiting our listing and voting for the Visible.net favicon!! Right now we have 4 total points, we’re looking to get enough to make the top favicon list in their directory. Thanks for the support!

The folks here at Visible.net are happy to announce yet another video release, this time explaining crucial information about the marketing side of our professional service offerings. As with our ecommerce video, this too can be accessed directly from our corporate site homepage within the marketing services section. The video is easily identified by the directors “takes” icon below the marketing programs overview.

As an alternate way to view and support our company and services, we have started a new YouTube Channel completely dedicated to Visible.net services and technology. The video below is an embedded version of the original, which can be found on YouTube along with the recent ecommerce service video we launched.

View our new Visible.net YouTube Channel at: http://www.youtube.com/user/Visiblenet

The marketing service video covers many of the basics surrounding what our company is about and the types of services/results we provide, including help or support options. We think it’s clearly explains what makes Visible.net different from other ecommerce and online marketing companies and plainly shows the direction we are headed in the industry. In the future, we plan on releasing more videos with content related to specific program aspects and other important information about the types or level of service we provide.

As always, we welcome any feedback or suggestions our readers or clients may have. If you would like to request a video or video content topic we would love to hear any ideas you may have to be considered for future releases. We have plenty of video content ideas in the works, so clients and readers here can expect to see a variety of ecommerce related videos having to do with our service plans or specific package aspects such as our shopping cart or marketing tools.

New ecommerce software and marketing services are scheduled for steady incremental release each and every month from the first half of May, until the release of our premier Web 2.0 exclusive software, around the month of November 2008.

We would like to personally thank everyone involved for all the effort and hard work that went into making the launch a success. Special thanks goes to Matt F. and the rest of the design and programming department for all the sleepless nights spent composing and updating the design and content of the new corporate website.

Upon launch we all enjoyed a BBQ at our physical location and offices. The weather was very nice, which couldn’t have been better. The food was delicious and I believe everyone had a great time together. Thanks to all the staff members who helped to make our official launch day a special event for everyone at the company.

We Are Proud To Announce Our Latest Web-based Tool

Visible.net is happy to announce that we are officially launching our latest new and improved web-based tool, the ecommerce and marketing website analyzer. The website analyzer tool has been designed to help our clients and tool users to spot, diagnose and help to improve individual web pages or sites as a whole. The tool specifically looks for a variety of important on-page performance, ranking and other factors that can help or hinder overall results within the major search engines.

The analyzer is easy to use and returns a ton of informational data about a given page or URL. Some of the things the tool analyzes and provides recommendations for include title tag size/relevancy, meta description size/relevancy, meta keywords size/relevancy, meta robots status, http status, page load time, page size in bytes, page text size, potential keyword combinations, link anchor tags, image alt tags, inbound links and outbound links. We hope to incorporate more factors in the future, but for now we think it’s a really useful tool for anyone looking to improve page or site performance.

To use the website analyzer simply…
  • Visit the Visible.net tools page and click on the analyzer icon or link
  • Enter yours or any web page or homepage address into the URL field
  • Set the minimum occurrences of keywords and ignore words limits
  • Choose whether or not to include density for description and keywords
  • Select whether or not to use the default stop words list when analyzing
  • Click “Run the Tool” to instantly receive information about the URL

Those are just a few of the things you can expect to find when using the new Visible.net website analyzer tool. In addition, we provide details of each aspect of the report and recommendations. For instance, users would also be able to see keywords separated into one, two and three word phrases as well as anchor tags found, alt tags found, outbound links found and more.

We hope you all enjoy the use and functionality of the website analyzer. As always, we encourage feedback or suggestions regarding any of our company applications, web-based tools or software. Visible.net Public Launch Is Right Around The Corner, Coming This May

First, it’s important that we thank a couple of individuals here at Visible.net who have played an important role in designing, drafting and publishing our company newsletters online and off. We have been distributing these “Reflections” since January and each issue seems to get better and better. We would like to thank and credit a few employees who have helped make it possible along the way.

  • Phyllis Brant (Human Resources Dept.) - Writer, contributor and organizer
  • Zak Lotz (Web Design Dept.) - Graphics and layout
  • Doug DeVany (Video Production Dept.) - Printing, formatting, editing, contributor

We would also like to thanks Chris Wilde (Marketing Dept.) and Jack McClure (Marketing Dept.) for their writing contribution on current or past issues within the Visible.net Reflections series.

Monthly Suggestion Box Winner

The suggestion box winner for the month of March is Mikelle Ivanhoe (Reception), for her great idea to improve the sales control panel. The new improvements have been made and are ready for use. We hope you enjoy the improved usability and searching capabilities within the control panel. Remember, we pay $100.00 every month for the best suggestion out of the box, so be sure to make your opinion heard and submit your ideas for your chance at winning the prize money.

Visible.net Go Kart Racing Event For Employees & Their Family

Are you ready for some fun? Visible.net is going to the races, Go Kart races that is!

This Saturday, March 15th, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Visible.net employees along with their family or guest will be headed to K-1 Speed for the first ever company Go Kart racing event. We have rented out the entire race track to make room for our over 100 employees, so it will just be our company at the track racing against each other for three grueling hours. We expect a good turn out and plenty of competition on the track, so bring your wallets (just kidding, it is all in fun and there won’t be betting allowed).

Registration for the event will take place at K-1 Speed on Saturday night promptly at 8 p.m. Alternatively, employees and guest can register Online by filling out a short registration form. By registering Online, you will be saving yourself and others time, so please use that option rather than waiting until you get to the track. All drivers must be registered before they can participate in the event.

K-1 Speed is just off of US 520. You can get there by taking the 148th Street exit and heading South. Turn right on N.E. 24th Street followed by a left onto Bel-Red Road. You should see K-1 Speed on the right hand side of the street after turning onto N.E. 24th.

Address:

K-1 Speed
2207 Bel-Red Rd.
Redmond, Wa 98052

K-1 Speed Map

Directions:

Be sure to ask Vicki, Glenn or Matt F. if you have any further questions regarding the Kart event at K-1 Speed.

This event should be a blast for all who attend. Please remember to arrive on time, promptly register and be safe when racing. We look forward to more events like this in the future, so lets be sure to have fun and respect the rules of the track and follow track employee instructions when driving.

March Means Daylight Savings Time & The Beginning Of Spring

Here we are already into the month of March and with the arrival of Spring on the 20th and the change to Daylight Savings Time on the 9th, we will now have more time in the evening for outside activities. I hope everyone plans to take advantage of the time change and use the time to spend more time outdoors after work and on the weekends to relax.

Our previously mentioned suggestion box in service offices didn’t get much attention this month. We need each of our employees to help out by submitting their suggestions each month, so please, put on your thinking cap and let’s come up with a winner for next month so the $100.00 prize doesn’t go to waste like it did this time.

Record Sales Continue Through February for Visible.net

The service consulting department continued to break records as they exceed their goal for the month of February. We have raised the bar again and hope to see everyone working hard to meet next months goal numbers. All Visible.net employees deserve a pat on the back and a big congratulations as it takes all departments working together as a team to make this happen month after month.

As the result of continued record numbers, each Visible.net employee is invited by the company for a great reward and time of fun on Saturday March 15th from 8-11 p.m. at the K-1 Speed Cart Racing in Bellevue. Please attend if you can as we hope to continue this trend with rewarding our dedicated staff members and company employees, you know, the ones that make all of this possible.

We are always on the look out for new and exciting service additions or strategies to put to use within our offerings. Whenever possible, we make it a priority to get to know our industry, the people in it and the niches that surround it.

As part of our research, reading and discussions, we have many profiles online that represent our company, brand and image on the web. We have taken a moment to gather some of those profiles to display here on the Visiblog for anyone interested in learning where and why we choose to participate in different company profile sites, discussion forums, blogs and social media sites.

January Means Breaking Records For Visible.net

Hopefully the new year is going well for everyone so far. It’s been a month since our last issue of Visible.net Reflections and we have much to report. Visible.net had a tremendous month in January economically. Our company sales department exceeded their sales goal this month. Whoo hoo guys and gals, great job! That’s wonderful news for everyone. Thank you for all your hard work, dedication and team effort in making this possible. The sales goal for February is going to be a challenge, but we know you all can do it, good luck and keep up the awesome selling.

Due to the sales department meeting their monthly goal in January, the reward will be a company party at Jillian’s Billiards located in Seattle on Friday, February 8th from 6pm to 8pm. There will be food, drinks, games and fun. We hope all our employees will attend, we look forward to seeing you there. Thanks again for hitting your goals and thanks in advance for attending the congratulations party.

Visible.net Ecommerce Software, Services & New Site

As you can probably tell from the name on our blog, the title of these newsletters and the new site, Visible.net is well on it’s way towards officially launching. We have also updated the sign at our front desk and all company documentation with the new Visible.net name. We continue to work extremely hard, sometimes without sleep, to get several new features for the site up and running along with new and better services for our clients.

As you know, the Internet is dynamic and is therefore going to be changing all the time. We know that as a company we must also be dynamic through the desire to improve ourselves and adjust to the nature of the ecommerce industry.

The new Visible.net site will give our company a new look and feel featuring new packages, programs and even video content to help enhance the way we show customers what we do and continue to service them along the way. Many of the features to the site will be new or enhanced including our support sections and client web tools. Our packages and programs will be completely re-developed and we plan on introducing new additions to our services offering.

The ecommerce and online marketing industries are steadily climbing into the mainstream and we are already among it’s longest lasting and most successful pioneers. We hope that with the launch of Visible.net and our new ecommerce software we will become to ecommerce what Google is to search. As Chris Wilde mentioned in last months newsletter, Vegas odds continue to predict a very good year for Visible.net.

Monthly Suggestion Box Winner

Last month we announced a new monthly prize for the top suggestions submitted by our company employees. We announced the winners for November and December 2007 in last months issue. The winner for January is Ashton Amirkabirian (tech dept.) for suggesting the improvements we made to our company sales control panel. Nice job, don’t spend your $100 cash prize all in one place.

Happy New Year Everyone!

We are embarking on a new year. Our plan is to issue a monthly newsletter and we would welcome any articles you would like to contribute for placement in the newsletter. In addition, we currently accept company feedback via our Online form or the suggestion box on-site in our sales manager’s office.

Our winning suggestion for the month of November 2007 was submitted by Vicki Anderson (billing dept.), and her suggestion was to start a monthly newsletter. As you can see, we took her great suggestion and made it a reality both Online and off. The winning suggestion for the month of December 2007 was submitted by Sue Strom (consulting dept.), her suggestion was to put up a company bulletin board for personal ads, announcements etc. Both of the past monthly winners took home their $100 cash prize for coming up with the winning suggestions. All employees are eligible to receive the $100 prize, simply submit your suggestion ad the winner will be announced the following month.

We also encourage our clients to submit feedback. At this time there are no cash prizes for our client suggestion winners, however we will continue to brainstorm new ways to ‘give back’ to our clients with the best feedback or suggestion each month.

PubCon 2007: Las Vegas Trip Update by Chris Wilde

The world’s largest Website Publisher Conference (PubCon) happens every year in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada. This year the Visible.net booth achieved rock star status with the best position and a constantly busy booth full of visitors. Special thanks go out to Matt Franklin (tech dept.) for managing the event. We also want to thank our company founder along with our general manager for arranging everything. It was a blast, we can’t wait for next year.

In a convention center the size of a stadium, one half was training where Google, Yahoo and others shared secrets about 2008. My favorite was Craig from Craigslist. He showed how a small team with good leaders can grow to be a top Internet company.

The Visible.net booth had prime location at the event. We were first when you walk in, right next to Google and Yahoo booths. We gave away company swag in the form of Flexfit hats, lanyards (you know, the things that hang your stuff around your neck) and even our one of a kind t-shirts. Booth visitors asked tons of questions about purchasing our software. A total of six worked the booth, but Matt gets the award for talking to the most prospects. Go Matt!

Interesting fact: All the trainings said the future was to “start doing” what Visible.net already does every day for our clients. We also noticed no other company had software anywhere close to the best Visible.net ecommerce package.

Vegas odds predict: 2008 will be a good year for Visible employees!!

Visible.net Company Notes

Here’s what happened around the company in December 2007. Thanks for all your hard work everyone.

Employee Handbook Update:

We are in the process of updating our Visible.net employee handbook which should hopefully be complete and ready for distribution sometime in early Spring. It is designed to change and improve many of our company policies/processes. We want you to enjoy working at Visible.net and the new handbook is in no way intended to make your employment more complicated. The plan is to continue to grow and improve as an ecommerce company.

Christmas Party Update:

Our company Christmas Party was held as Level 5 Club in Seattle on Friday December 14th. Most of our staff of over 100 attended and had a blast. At the party, management announced this year’s new profit sharing employees. This year, one person from our technical department and one from our service consulting department made profit share. Way to go everyone, thanks for a great year.

New Employees:

Visible.net hired 11 new employees during the month of December.

Employee Birthdays:

Visible.net is celebrating birthdays for 12 employees this month.

That does it for this months issue of Visible.net Reflections. It has been a great year/month and we are looking forward to the year to come. Thanks to all our clients and employees, without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Check out next months newsletter on the Visiblog.
